FROM THE VAULT
These videos are NOT about sound quality - because being recorded live in the room on a simple mobile phone with all its colouration, distortion, resonance etc... (which can be experienced for instance in the Lecuona section, where the music really shows the limits of the phone's microphone (in the range between 1200 and about 4500 Hz, it gets very bright, NOT like what is heard in the listening room). With these limitations sound quality cannot be breathtaking.
"From the vault" is planned as a small series about "known" music, some "less known" music, music rarely heard, fine interpretations, known artists as well as less known artists.
It is a totally personal choice - not at all what some would call "objective".
What I am aiming at is not to boast about sound quality but to share some music - and a bit of history and maybe a few experiences of a lifetime in audio.
There may be questions as the sources are not always - but sometimes they are ! - first hand experiences.
This is a very simple format and very limited. It is not rehearsed or "produced" (and unfortunately no one applied make-up on my face...); there may be wrong dates, names, titles and other matters; your understanding is appreciated.
Academics, scholars, experts in the field may criticize "inexactitudes" and they may declare this approach as simplistic - which it has to be because of its very limited scale.
For me it's all about the music. Human enjoyment is analogue, personal and - I am quite sure - will remain so.
Manuel Huber
The breathtaking presence of this 55 year old recording clearly defies the sometimes stated preconceived idea that
'...FM ACOUSTICS is only for listeners of classical music...'
Here is an unprocessed video of the actual sound in the listening environment.
This is one of the rare Inspiration System XS-1C installations together with the TS-1 (True Subwoofer). Calibrated and fine tuned to this very demanding acoustic environment, this is as great as
music can get...
Repeated requests for a short online demonstration/explanation of the ARC (Acoustic Resonance Compensation) have been received.
This unique feature solves the problem of standing waves which exists in any listening environment. The ARC is included in the FM 268 C, in the FM 266-MKII-RC and in the
new FM 256-RC.
Here a brief demo.
Note: this is recorded directly into a mobile phone. Make sure to hear this on an audio system or decent external speakers to capture the difference.
Of course, in reality, the actual improvement is much larger than a mobile phone microphone can capture. The idea here is to give a short demonstration to help understand the
importance of eliminating standing waves.
For a real experience of the ARC's capabilities, contact the official FM ACOUSTICS distributor - or email us and we will advise him

INTRODUCING THE CLASS AMP M1
It is a great feeling to re-introduce the Class Amp M1 precision microphone and transducer pre-amplifier.
The Class Amp M-1's are employed in the most critical professional applications in sound, movie, video and audio pre-production as well as music instrument pre-amplification.
TS - 1
"TS - 1" is aptly named - and stands for what it is - the "TRUE SUB".
The TS - 1 excels with true, absolutely uncoloured reproduction.
While other sub-woofers falsely reproduce low and even low-mid frequencies (which colours the reproduction of the whole system and is one of the reasons that sub-woofers are notorious for poor definition) the TS - 1 only reproduces the most extreme low frequencies.
The TS - 1 provides an extension of an octave - of course only with source material where such LF signals are present. This manifests itself not just in a natural extension but an amazing increase in realism and hall ambience - one is closer to concert hall experience then ever.
Obviously, the TS - 1 is NOT needed for a number of music styles but it does provide the real "basso profundo" for realistic - very - full range recordings.
When the TS - 1 is combined with an existing Inspiration System XS-1, a brand new dedicated active crossover will replace the current XS-1 crossovers. The TS - 1 can be combined with any
versions of XS-1 - "A", "B" and "C".
