Resolution Series power amplifiers are the result of a four decade-long effort utilizing most advanced research methods and facilities. At the outset it was clear to all involved that
this would be the ultimate statement of precision power amplification and that anything ever made - including all previously made FM ACOUSTICS amplifiers - would have to be clearly
surpassed.
The engineers have absolute freedom to use whatever technology and components they deem necessary to guarantee that unprecedented performance will result.
The Resolution Series is the ultimate range of audio electronics. Designed without any constraint on time, resources or finances, our engineering team has been able to leave the beaten
path of audio electronics design, try new and different solutions to resolve common limitations, fine-tune these new technologies and test them for years before they could be manufactured. This
support from all parties involved results in a unique creative spirit and culminates in singular developments.
While some of the technology used in the Resolution Series is unorthodox it is always based on the proven laws of physics combined with a wealth of practical experience in the
field.
All Resolution Series power amplifiers use the same technology and components and are handmade by the same craftsmen. They only differ in output power, size and weight.
The developments are proprietary and provide a true breakthrough in the performance of power amplifiers. The final results set definite and absolute standards in every respect.

The Resolution Series precision power amplifiers incorporate a series of advanced processes and solutions.
In the Resolution Series the amplifiers' dynamic output current is entirely unlimited. Depending on model, the output current capability (20A RMS to over 70A RMS and repetitive peak
currents of up to 550A per channel!) guarantee that no form of limiting, compression or any other negative influence on the audio signal is possible. Unlike other power amplifiers fuses in the
signal line, in the DC supply or anywhere else in the audio circuitry are completely avoided. At the same time the speakers and the amplifiers are fully protected by proprietary, intelligent
safeguarding circuits.
Creating a high-current output stage is one feat, but doing so while at the same time guaranteeing absolutely pristine music reproduction and ultimate protection is quite another
achievement.
With dynamic music signals the Resolution Series amplifiers can drive any known speaker - in fact any impedance or complex multi-driver arrangement - without limiting or compression and
with perfect stability, thereby achieving astonishing performance improvements.
To achieve this, the dedicated FORCELINES cables are required to connect the amplifier circuits to the speakers. Only then can the amplifier perform optimally. All amplifiers were all designed
WITH FORCELINES to guarantee that the performance is identical at the speaker - and not just at the amplifier's output sockets. While with some amplifiers other cables may work fine, they will be
limiting the performance of a Resolution Series precision amp. One reason is that the output current capability of all Resolution Series amplifiers are much higher than others.
Higher current demands a higher capacity cable.
A further important difference is the unique dynamic output impedance which on FM ACOUSTICS amplifiers is much lower than in other amps. A lower output impedance requires a corresponding cable
that provides lower impedance.
This is the reason why the Resolution Series was designed including FORCELINES and why every Resolution Series amplifier must be connected with FORCELINES.
Nowhere are components matched like as at FM ACOUSTICS. Dozens of special testing machines have been developed for this purpose. Each and every building block, p.c. board and part assembly goes

FM ACOUSTICS' exclusive enhanced Class A circuitry is used in all amplification stages, from the discrete (no IC's or op amps), precision balanced, true symmetrical inputs to the multiple voltage
gain and ultra-linear, high-current output stages. Proprietary design criteria, entirely hand-selected components of the absolutely highest quality (many of them specially made to FM ACOUSTICS'
specifications), ultra accurate calibration and the most dedicated craftsmanship result in the finest standard of music reproduction.
A note about specifications: these are often misused, misunderstood, or utilized only to sell a product instead of indicating its actual performance capabilities. "Typical" specifications will not tell much about the true value of a certain component. Only guaranteed minimum data as specified for all FM ACOUSTICS products, together with carefully controlled listening tests, will provide accurate and useful information.
One example is power, where you will see absolutely stratospheric power ratings far away from any reality ('500W' units that have a 150W power supply etc.). Even in 'high end' products the
ratings are closer to fantasy than reality.
Compared with other amplifiers of similar power ratings, an FM ACOUSTICS amplifiers drive speakers to higher levels - and effortlessly so. Actual SPL (Sound Pressure Level) differences
of between 2 dB and 8 dB have been documented. This astounding distortion-free dynamic increase is one of the exceptional characteristics of FM ACOUSTICS' amplifiers. The result: an FM
ACOUSTICS amplifier that is less powerful on the spec sheet will provide more dynamic, higher clean sound level with better performance than amplifiers rated at much higher power.
More differences in characteristics and performance are not visible in spec sheets. Bear this in mind when comparing specifications as such matters make all the difference in actual reproduction.
All specifications are guaranteed minimum figures for every single product that comes of the second final test.
The measurements and specifications below apply to a normal living room environment with a mains supply of 10A at 230V or 20A at 115V AC (with the exception of the FM 1811-MKII and FM 118 ultra
high power amplifiers which requires higher mains power).
These conditions are more realistic than those which are present in a laboratory, where high-performance power supplies can be utilized.
This also means that the specifications and performance are realistically achievable results in a home environment. In a laboratory environment the specifications may be even better. The above
must be kept in mind when comparing the specifications with those of other products which are taken in laboratory environments and are "typical" rather than guaranteed minimum.
